Renewable Energy Forecast

In June 2017 the International Energy Agency, a group established by the of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), put out a report summarizing recent global progress on clean energy. The report looks toward 2025 as a benchmark in the so-called two degree scenario (2DS), which aims to limit global temperature rise to two degrees Celsius between 2015 and 2100. Essential to achieving this goal is increased electricity generation from renewable sources, and data show that while near-term projected growth in this area is substantial, it must accelerate even faster to stay on track for 2DS. The graphs below show two different views of this trend, broken down by region.
